Heart disease is the nation’s single leading cause of death. Oftentimes, the first and only warning sign occurs too late--with the onset of a heart attack. Luckily, heart disease can be slowed or even stopped with early detection. Consider this:
•
This year about 1.2 million Americans will have a coronary attack. Approximately 500,000 of these people will die.
•
6.4 million Americans have chest pain or discomfort due to reduced blood supply to the heart.
•
Heart disease can be reversed if it is detected early enough.
We offer two complimentary screens to detect heart and coronary disease.
Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring wellness scan:
This is a 20 second, non-invasive and painless exam using a CT scanner that detects and measures plaque build up in the coronary arteries. Plaque build up hardens the arteries and interferes with blood supply to the heart. Using our advanced 40-slice CT scanner and specialized software, we can evaluate the amount of calcium present in the arteries and diagnose coronary artery disease in its early stages. Cardiac calcium plaque build up may also be an indicator of other vascular diseases.
